Liverpool Pride 2024: A Record-Breaking Celebration with a Powerful Message

Liverpool Pride 2024 was an unforgettable event, drawing over 60,000 attendees to the free festival at Pier Head on Saturday, July 27th. The festival saw record-breaking participation, with 25,000 people joining Liverpool’s March With Pride, setting a new milestone in the event’s history.

One of the standout features of this year’s Pride was the involvement of Causeway, a charity dedicated to combating modern slavery, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. With the event’s theme, “Be Heard,” Causeway’s team, bolstered by a host of celebrity supporters, taking centre stage to raise awareness about the ongoing risks and injustices faced by vulnerable individuals.

Television personalities such as Shelley King from Coronation Street and Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson from Married At First Sight UK were among the stars who marched through the streets of Liverpool, amplifying Causeway’s urgent message. They were joined by fan favourites from The Traitors UK, including Diane Carson, Miles Asteri, and Theo Mayne, as well as Married At First Sight UK’s Matt Jameson. These celebrities used their platforms to shed light on the hidden crisis of modern slavery, ensuring that the voices of those who are often unheard were powerfully represented.
